March 2017 - Forgotten Corner

I often feel slightly frustrated when taking pictures on holiday. My main aim is always to capture the family moments and the beautiful places we are visiting to preserve these memories for the future, but the limited time to explore a location means that the resulting "record" images often leave me dissatisfied.

I have just returned from a fantastic family walking holiday in Madeira and was completely taken in by the moutainous landscape and unique levada walks, but it is unlikley you'll see any pictures of them here as very few of them exceed my quality threshold for sharing beyond friends and family. Instead I give you this image. A forgotten corner of Madeira and one of those moments when I feel like I've captured something slightly more interesting about the place I'm visiting.

If you feel cheated by this, have a look at some snaps I posted on Twitter, which perhaps give you a better, more touristy, view of the island.
